Somewhere in the South Pacific...

Through the ages, the exploits of famous ships have captured the imagination. To many, the Wahoo has been nothing short of hypnotic. To walk her decks today is impossible.  However, many have found satisfaction in modeling her lines, in either static or radio controlled scale. Here you wil find examples of the scale modeler's art to inspire you and resources to equip you in your own endeavors.

These images are of a 1/48 scale Wahoo owned by Barry Appel of Vancouver, B.C., Canada.  It was built by Dan Kachur utilizing a Scale Shipyard hull.  Detailed to depict Wahoo during her first patrol, this beautiful radio controlled model won 1st Place at the 1996 Burnaby Regatta.

Operating features include torpedoes, periscopes, radar masts, lights and diesel engine sounds as well as the ability to dive and surface on command.

If you have images of a Wahoo model you have built, please forward them for display.
