The sixth annual SubRon5 Sun N Fun event was held this year in Muskogee, Oklahoma, home of the WWII museum boat USS Batfish (SS-310). A running pond was engineered on the starboard side of the boat for model sub running. Click on the image to get a true appreciation of the size of Batfish and the venue.

One of the first in the water was a new member to the group, Ron Eichost, the Kansas City Kid. He brought his scratch built 1/24 scale Type VII U-boat.

Ron's boat is magnificent and creates quite an impression on the water.

Here Ron gives his boat a gentle nudge to turn it around and head back down the pond. The running area was a little too small for boats of this size.

Ron put on a great show for an enthusiastic crowd.

Ron uses an OTW style pump ballast system which draws water into the ballast tank and compresses the air within the WTC.

Ron transported his beauty in a custom built reinforced PVC cart. He handled her himself handily.

Ron detailed her with markings for U-552, the boat of Erich Topp.
